Born in Lake Charles, LA and lived in Moss Bluff, he was a member of Moss Bluff Bible Church. He worked and retired at Citgo as an Operator; he was a graduate of Lagrange High School, attended McNeese University and graduated from Southern Christian University, where he obtained his doctorate of Theology. He owned and operated laundromats, car washes, Jeff Davis and Acme Repair. He loved camping and hunting of all kinds including deer, coon and especially fox hunting with dogs.His grandchildren and great -grandchildren whom he loved and adored, were the light of his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a joyful person who never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 59 years, Patricia Rose Abercrombie of Moss Bluff, LA., one son; Joshua Wayne Abercrombie and wife Angel of Ragley, LA., three daughters; Aimee Rose Gilmore and husband Charles of Moss Bluff, LA; Sheila Kay Gilmore and husband John of Moss Bluff, LA and Kristi Lyn Wicks of Houston, TX, one sister; Lettie Meddows of Moss Bluff, LA., and one brother; Clark Abercrombie of Moss Bluff, LA., ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren along with many other family and friends.
