Obituary: Raymond C. Abbott, 92, of Evansville, passed away , 22, 2016, at the Evansville Protestant . He was born 25, 1924, in Evansville, to the late Arthur and Mary (Reiter) Abbott. He was the husband of LaVonda (Kerwick) Abbott, whom he had been married to for 70 years. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and served as an Evansville Firefighter for 33 years. He was also employed by Commercial Services for 20 years. Raymond was a member of the Indiana Firefighters Association and Retired Police and Firefighters Association. He was a charter member of the Inland Yacht Club and served as its first secretary. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur Buddy Abbott, Jr.; sisters, Mildred Walker and Delores Lockhart; son, Larry Ray Abbott; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Abbott. He is survived by his wife, LaVonda; son, David J. Abbott and wife, Kathy; granddaughters, Christy Alvey and husband, John, and Julia Condict and husband, Curt, of Zionsville; grandsons, Andy Abbott and fiancé, Melissa Seitz, Tony Abbott and wife, Tammy, and Alex Abbott and wife, Erin; great-granddaughters, Brooke and Alli Abbott, Elise Condict, and Grace and Elizabeth Abbott; great-grandsons, Arrick, Nick, Addison, and Anthony John Abbott, Jacob and Joel Alvey, Austin Abbott, and Grant Condict; step-grandson, Ethan Austin; step-granddaughter, Shelby Ennis; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the Evansville Protestant staff for their wonderful care and service. Services will be 10:00 AM , 26, 2016, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Kenneth Olson and the Evansville Fire Department Honor Guard, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Obituary: Marie Elizabeth Abbott, age 78, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully morning in the Golden Living . Born 19, 1932 in Marion , she was the daughter of Alva and Jimmie L Hopper. Those who knew her lost an amazing spirit. Marie attended Indiana University and was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Eta Music Fraternity. Marie had a lifelong passion for music. She established the Abbott Studio of Music and spent endless hours teaching piano, organ, banjo, and guitar. She publicly performed often and won numerous music competitions over her career. Maries laugh and smile will be missed by all and will forever live in our memory of her. She is survived by her husband, Willmen Kwok, of Bloomington; grandson and his wife, Jeremy and Shelly Abbott, of Plano, Texas. She was preceded in death by two sons, Dan Abbott and Delbert Del Abbott. Marie requested that there be no service or visitation held. Day in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements. In support of Maries passion for music, you are invited to donate in lieu of flowers to the Sigma Alpha Iota Fraternity which provides music scholarships for children.
