Obituary: John Olin Ansink,Sr. MGy Sgt.(ret.) John Olin Ansink, Sr. of St. Simons Island, GA went home to be with the Lord on , Aug. 29, 2010. He is survived by his wife of thirty- five years, Betty Russell Ansink, his children Kathleen Ansink husband Don of Edenton, N.C., Beth Ansink Johnson and husband Chuck of Dinwiddie, VA., John Olin Ansink, Jr., and wife Lee Ann of Dewitt, VA., EMC (ret.) David Lawrence Ansink and wife Catherine of Elizabeth City N.C., Susan Russell Arnold and husband Tom of St. Simons Island, GA., Whit Ervin ( Skip ) Russell and wife Peggy of St. Simons Island, GA., Katy Russell Czaikowski and husband Mike of Sugarland, Texas, his grandchildren Lindsey Marks, Holly Saito, Heather Ansink, Shelly Lucas, Jordan Ansink, Lang Ansink, Cameron Ansink, Audrey Ansink, Catherine Arnold, Sarah Russell, Whit Russell, Susan Czaikowski, Richard Czaikowski, his great-grandchildren Marshall Lucas, Sakiah Marks - Rivera, Lyrica Marks, and Taylor Marks. John was born in Philadelphia, PA on 26, 1934. He was the son of Olin Lang Ansink and Kathleen Hoffman Ansink of Philadelphia, PA. He was predeceased by his sister Dolores Ansink Kellenbeny of King of Prussia, PA. John proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. for twenty seven and half years. John and his wife Betty then retired to St. Simons Island, GA., where they enjoyed being with their family and friends. John was a member of Christian Renewal Church of St. Simons where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, his pet cat, and shopping at Wal-Mart. He loved life was a wonderful husband and father. He loved the Lord and was a member of the Emmaus Community. He loved vacationing in the North Carolina Mountains, where he and Betty spent several months a year at Swiss Mountain Village near Blowing Rock. John will be missed by many people as he touched numerous lives and blessed countless people. His family asks that no flowers be sent but that donations be made to the Humane Society, or Crisis Pregnancy or a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11 am. , 31, 2010 at the Christian Renewal Church of St. Simons, 6530 Frederica Rd. St. Simons Island, GA., with Rev. Mike Murray officiating.
