Obituary: Theresa Gabriele Adair, age 98, known as Meema, passed away in Cumming, GA on 9, 2010 at Cumming surrounded by her family. Mrs. Adair was born 3, 1912 in New York City to Italian parents George and Mae Gabriele. She was raised in Bronx, NY. She attended Catholic parochial schools for 12 yrs and later she studied art at Pratt Art Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She was married to George D. Adair in 1934 in Chicago, IL. moved to Memphis, TN where they raised their son, Tom Adair, Sr. the death of her husband in 1963, she worked for the US Dept of Defense until she retired in 1977. She moved to Atlanta in 1979 to be closer to her son and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of St. Judes Catholic Church in Sandy Springs and finally a member of St. Brendans Catholic Church in Cumming, GA. She was known for her strong faith in God, love of her family and country. She was an unselfish, charitable, and generous person. She is preceded in death by her parents Mae and George Gabriele; her husband, George D. Adair, Sr.; her younger sister, Louise Kugler; her great-grandson, Boden Adair and her step son, George Adair, Jr. She is survived by her son, Tom Adair, Sr. (Jean) and her 4 grandchildren: Shannon Adair Lowery (Chris), Melissa Adair Adams, Tom Adair, Jr. (Karen) and Justin Adair (Patty). Additionally, she is survived by 9 of her 10 great grandchildren: Seth Lowery, Colum Lowery, Brigid Lowery, Jesse Adams, Katherine Adair, Tommy Adair, III, Aidan Adair, Calston Adair, and Declan Adair and her niece, GeorgiaMae Kugler Cappalli. The Mass will be celebrated by The Rev. John Howren. Services will be held at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Cumming, GA on 13, 2010 at 11a.m. Visitation will be before the Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be immediately after the Mass at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA. |

Obituary: Mrs. Mable Elizabeth Jones Adair, 85, of St. Simons Island and formerly of Atlanta, died , 30, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Adair was a native of Eufaula, AL and had been a resident of St. Simons Island for the past 32 years. She was past President of Rabun Gap Nacoochee Club in Atlanta and a member of the Sea Island Garden Club, Sea Island Skimmers, Ocean Forest Club and the Cassina Garden Club. She was also a founding member of the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation, a board member of the Southeast Georgia System Foundation, and was a member of the St. Simons Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Forrest Adair, III and a step-daughter Elsa Adair. Survivors are a son, Frank Dallas Strickland (Judy) of Atlanta; two daughters, Julia Adair Janas (Steve) of Marietta and Ruth Adair Stephenson (Keith) of St. Simons Island; a step-son, Forrest Dodd Adair (Janet) of Birmingham, AL; eleven grandchildren, Dallas Strickland, Jr., Dorsey Manning, Dawson Strickland, Forrest Strickland, Caroline Bradford, Melanie Janas, Melissa Kent, Robert Stephenson, Lauren Adair, David Adair and Scott Adair; four great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Williams of Gainesville, GA; and a devoted family friend, William Billy Smith and his wife, Lauretta. Services will be held at 2 PM , 3, 2010 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons with Reverend Wright Culpepper officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Coastal Nurse . The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in Westview in Atlanta at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA, 31520 or the Faithworks Ministry, P. O.
