Mrs. Abercrombie was born on 15, 1947, daughter of the late David Hadden Kirk and the late Letty McCurdy Kirk. She was a medical assistant having worked for Dr. Cabaniss and Dr. Ashmore. Mrs. Abercrombie was a member of the Danielsville Evangelical Church and a 1967 Madison High Graduate. Survivors include her husband, Herschel Abercrombie of Danielsville, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Greg Abercrombie of Thomson, GA, Gary and Lisa Abercrombie of Watkinsville, GA; grandson, Garrett Abercrombie; brother, Ronnie Kirk of Danielsville, GA; sister, Jeanette King of Hull, GA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Abercrombie was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard, Chandler, Horace, Edwin, Bobby, and Hoyt Kirk; sisters, Vivian Argo, Ruth Adams, Genevieve Phillips, Rachel Hunsinger, Marceline Lester, Eleanor Riley. services for Mrs. Abercrombie will be held at 2:00 p.m. on , 20, 2015, at the Danielsville Evangelical Church with Rev. Tim Peek, Rev. Glenn Lyles, and Mr. Dan Hunsinger officiating. Mrs. Abercrombie will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. on afternoon. Interment will follow in the Danielsville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Pruitt from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on evening. The family is at the home. Obituary: Mr. Robert F. Abercrombie, Sr., age 91, of Douglasville, GA passed away , 18, 2014. A native of Douglas , he was born May 28, 1923. Mr. Abercrombie was a 1940 graduate of Douglas High School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during WWII in the South Pacific. He served as Probate Judge in Douglas for 32 years; was a member of the Douglasville Masonic Lodge #289; and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. Mr. Abercrombie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Abbie Mae Abercrombie; and his parents, Walter and Ida Birch Abercrombie. He is survived by his sons, Bobby Abercrombie and wife Cathy of Mansfield, GA, and Jeff Abercrombie, of Douglasville, GA; daughters, Laura A. Bryant and Melinda Abercrombie, both of Douglasville, GA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on , 19, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Obituary: Mr. Rayburn Abercrombie, 101, passed away , 14, 2017 at West Georgia Hospice. Mr. Abercrombie was born 28, 1916 in Carrollton, GA to the late Thomas H. and Sarah M. Banks Abercrombie. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange. Mr. Abercrombie married the love of his life, Lathan Justice on 6, 1941. Mr. Abercrombie proudly served his country, during WWII as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, where he fell in love with planes. the war, he continued his love for flying as a pilot/engineer for Pan Am Airlines. Rayburn and Lathan traveled the globe together and enjoyed seeing the world. The Abercrombies lived and worked in Coral Gables, Florida; there they enjoyed the tropical climate and spending time with family, friends and their beloved poodle. The Abercrombies retired home to LaGrange, Georgia to be closer to Lathans sister, Audrey Sue Justice. Mr. Abercrombie was an active member in numerous charitable organizations such as the Kiwanis Club, Shriners Hospital for Children, and the Scottish Rite; in which he was a 33rd degree Mason. Mr. Abercrombie was preceded in death by his wife, Lathan. He leaves his cherished memories to his cousin, God-daughter, DeLee Davis of Lakeland, FL and many friends and loved ones. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00am , 19, 2017, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Dr. Harry Barrow and Reverend Jan Stewart Tolbert officiating. The visitation will be from 9:30am until service time on . Burial will follow in Shadowlawn .
